What is a Canvas Bell Tent?
A predecessor to the bell tent, the sibley tent was invented by Henry Hopkins Sibley, who had studied the Native American tipi during the expeditions he carried out in the American Old West. Our Bell Tents are traditionally styled using extra thick canvas, wooden pole and pegs, yet with modern features such as door flap and mosquito netted windows for extra light and ventilation.

Why a Bell Tent?
Indigenous people from around the world have used canvas as a natural breathable material, with suitable properties for use in the elements. Canvas is both durable and versatile. The bell tent shrugs off wind and rain and barely makes a sound even in high winds. For the UK climate, canvas affords warmer nights and cool shelter from the sun in the day time. You'll never go back to Nylon! Bell tents are large enough to stand up in (unless you are over 9 feet tall!) and happily shrug off the wind and rain.

Ok, tell me more...
They allow natural light to shine through, lending your space an ambient glow that lulls one to sleep on a lazy afternoon! The sides may also be rolled up on very hot days, creating a versatile shaded area so you can enjoy the Cornish sea air and a view of the Bude wetlands nature reserve from your sheltered site.
