We are often bottle feeding orphan lambs throughout April and May. They are adorable creatures but take a lot of looking after!

Campers and their children are more than welcome to help bottle feed lambs from time to time.

If you are over 18 and you would like to volunteer on Cerenety's Orphan Lamb projects, please click here for details.

Flipper

Flipper is our one year old Welsh Bornder Collie. Named Flipper because he spends a great deal of time in the wildlife pond, he is also exceptionally friendly and can be found hurtling around the fields most of the summer.

Meant to live outdoors and be a working dog, he used his big brown eyes on us and now sleeps in the house and is possibly the most spoilt dog in the history of the world!

Phylis

Phylis is our mouse catching, dog tormenting, sheep chasing cat. She is very playful and is constantly seen running around the fields and scampering up trees.

We found Phylis as a kitten in Holsworthy poultry market, in a tiny cage surrounde by chickens, ducks and geese. Nobody seemed to want her and we just couldn't leave her there.

She's been with us at Cerenety for about 4 years now.

Tipsy

Tipsy is one of the rabbits in the small animal area. She is a very very friendly rabbit and loves nothing more than a cuddle (and a carrot!). She loves being played with and is very gentle.

We got Tipsy's mum Rosy, from people who were keeping too many rabbits in a small area and were told they must reduce the numbers.

Unbenknownst to us, Rosy was pregnant when we got her. We successfully rehomed all the baby bunnies, but couldn't part with Tipsy, so now she lives at Cerenety with her mum.

Chenti

Chenti is one of our beautiful alpacas. They are very indepenent animals, but all come running at feeding time!

Unfortunately some of our alpacas have not been very well over the last year. However with a lot of comitment and attension, they are all doing much much better now.

We hope to have a new cria (baby alpaca) by spring 2013!

Sidney

Sid is one of our very first orphan lambs. Along with Fred and Nancy, Sid has stayed at Cerenety for the last 5 years as we could never bring ourselves to part with them. As lambs we bottle fed them and coaxed them through the first few months of life.

They are unbelievably tame and playful and all of our guests usually adore them.

Jack Maggie Donkey Crow

Jack fell out of the nest as a baby bird and his mother was no where to be found. We took him in and kept him in a hat box. Through feeding him cooked egg and meal worm with chopsticks he lived through his first few weeks. Several flying lessons later he took off to the skies at about 3 months old. We sometimes see him flying around the house still. He is one of our many success stories of rescue and rehabilitation.

 Pertemps Red

Red is our very special rescue ex race horse. He was very ill when we first got him. He was very skinny with heart problems, feed problems, teeth problems and many other medical conditions.

Three years later, he's looking fantastic, feeling great and has a wonderful life here at Cerenety.

Red is one of most successful rescue stories.

 Henrietta

We have many rescue chickens. They come from the recently closed battery farms, where they didn't see sunlight and were kept in very small cages. Here at Cerenety they have a very large out door area where they can peck around  in the grass and sunbath in the dirt.

They also supply us with the most wonderful eggs!

Maizie

Maizie is a beautiful and experienced little Welsh Section A pony. She is nine years old and a perfects children's pony with oodles of personality.

Unfortunaly one of our friends had to down size due to lack of space and she wanted Maizie to go to a good home, where she knew the owners would look after her. Maizie is very happy here at Cerenety and has lots of attension!

Tresparrett Indian Rivers

Torry (short for Torrent) is our steel grey Welsh Section A. He is incredibly friendly, loves a cuddle and will eat almost anything (even if he isn't allowed)! We hope to break him in to be ridden and to pull horse drawn farm equipment to help us around the land.

For the moment he's a wonderful little man, full of mischievous personality.

Rupert

Rupert is our chunky and handsome moorland colt. He's not very old and is extremely mischievous.

He was being sold at Holsworthy horse market, where nobody seemed to want him. Our friend took pity on him and approached the owner after the market. In need of a good home, we decided to have him at Cerenety.

He is a beautiful boy, full of character and seems to be able to jump almost anything!

Nanna

Nanna is new this year. She is a toy miniture shetland and only stands about 3 ft from the ground! She was afraid of everyone when we first got her, but gradually she is becoming more and more tame.

She is a tiny pony with a huge personality, she even tries to put Red in his place at times.

We think she may be pregnant, so watch this space, spring 2012 may see the tiniest pony at Cerenety yet!
